About Port of Vigo

Welcome to the PORT OF VIGO link to keeping informed about all the features, services & advantages provided by this sheltered and natural port in the Northwestern Spain. One of the most important Atlantic Spanish ports, specially in terms of general cargo, fishing cargo and cruise passengers, highly specialized in both, container and ro-ro traffic. The land port surface reachs 2.5 M sqm, while the port water - the whole estuary-, exceeds 14,000 Ha. The total port traffics rounds about 4 M tons per year, approximately 90% of general cargo, and most of it managed in specialized terminals: TERMAVI -containers traffic- and the Bouzas ro-ro Terminal -roll on-roll off traffic, both new cars and trucks. The main global shipping lines in ro-ro, lol-lo and breakbulk are operating in the Vigo Terminals nowadays through more than regular maritime services at the Port of Vigo. Fishing cargo is one the most important, with almost 1 M tons of fish products managed at the port, including frozen and fresh fish, canned food and fish oil & flour. The infrastructures devoted to this industry are receiving thousands workers, to sell and buy fish through the several auctions held every day in its Fish Markets. Cruise traffic is also very important for the port, and contribute to support the Vigo economical activity, based on automotive and ancillary industry -PSA PEUGEOT CITRÔEN factory- as well as Shipbuilding and Repair activity. The Port of Vigo is facing now the necessary growth and development in the short term, through a Logistics & Industrial Platform, as a dry port, called 'PLISAN'.
