About Portland Cultural Dance Collective
Portland Cultural Dance Collective (PCDC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, celebrating, and sharing cultural dance traditions through education, performance, and community engagement. Rooted in equity and representation, we center BIPOC, LGBTQ+, immigrant, and historically marginalized communities by offering accessible, culturally-informed dance programming. From salsa and hip hop to folkloric and fusion styles, our work reflects the richness of global movement traditions. Formerly Vitalidad Movement Arts Center (VMAC), PCDC continues the legacy of community-building through dance with a renewed focus on sustainability, cultural preservation, and social impact. We are a working board and leadership team of women, queer, and global-majority founders with a mission to build community power—one step at a time.
