About Portland Gear

Established in 2014. Founded by Portland native Marcus Harvey, Portland Gear was constructed with the desire to wear, represent, and share the city we know and love. As Instagram grew in popularity in 2013, Marcus found no page existed showcasing his beloved hometown. He created the @portland page, which rapidly gained a following of 60k followers within 6 months. Marcus realized that the love of the city required more than just a social media page. People wanted to wear their Portland pride. A logo synonymous with Portland, the "P" logo with the state of Oregon inside led to the creation of Portland Gear which launched Black Friday 2014. With the help of a young and energetic team, Portland Gear has grown to multiple retail locations, and has had notable collaborations with the Trail Blazers, Timbers, Thorns, OHSU and many more. Thanks to our wonderful customers, PG has shipped to all 50 states, and over 60 countries worldwide, allowing us to share a little piece of Portland across the globe.
