CUPA houses two schools, the Mark O. Hatfield School of Government and the Nohad A. Toulan School of Urban Studies and Planning, and six academic units: Criminology & Criminal Justice, Economics, Politics & Global Affairs, Public Administration, and Urban Studies & Planning. Our Centers and Institutes conduct research and provide expertise to community partners all over the world—from helping a rural Oregon town estimate its population growth to developing a no-waste policy for a local grocery store chain. CUPA truly embodies the Portland State University motto, “Let Knowledge Serve the City.”
