About Positive Vibes Foundation

The Positive Vibes Foundation (PVF) established in 2014, is a registered charitable organisation with the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profits Commission (ACNC) and has Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status. Our vision is to promote positive mental wellbeing by changing attitudes towards mental health in Communities; making Connections with like-minded organisations to drive better outcomes and connect people with services they require; and through Conversations with individuals and small groups to provide them with advice and guidance. We call this our 3Cs. PVF currently have several well-established initiatives run by volunteers to assist in achieving our vision: • Paw Visits – A program where we take comfort/ therapy dogs to visit the elderly in aged care homes. • Young Healthy Minds Forum – An annual event that brings together 150+ high school students in an interactive and engaging full day workshop on mental health and mindfulness. • The Hills Women’s Shed – This is the first Women’s Shed in the Hills, providing opportunities for women to share and learn new skills and become more independent. • UPmarket & PVF – UPmarket holds their arts and crafts market on the fourth Sunday of every month. Our collaboration will enable PVF to promote its mental health message and programs to many in the community, and people with mental health information at our stall. • Mental Health Talks – PVF organises talks in Libraries centered on mental health. • Community Hub – Our premises at Balcombe Heights Estate has meeting rooms, a kitchen and a community garden and is available for hire by other organisations. • Community Support – PVF supports the activities of other organisations where they fit with our objectives and help promote the Foundation.
