About Post Shields

Post Shields are an innovative solution for protecting existing or new posts from damage caused by string trimmers or other lawn care equipment/services. The simple design gives any outdoor space a luxurious and finished look you'll love while saving time and money on unneeded maintenance. Post Shields, Inc. is owned and operated by brother/sister duo, Kane and Jennifer Carmody. We founded Post Shields to protect our family and friend’s wooden posts and now it’s our goal to solve this everyday lawn care and property maintenance problem nationwide. We came up with the concept for Post Shields by noticing the posts in our neighborhood were being destroyed by grass trimmers and yard maintenance. The only options to fix the damaged posts were to repaint them frequently, replace them too soon or spend thousands of dollars to switch to other composite fencing options. All of these options are time-consuming and expensive and we wanted to come up with an easier and less expensive option to solve this problem. We started getting the word out about Post Shields by sending emails to DIY and home improvement bloggers and magazines. The Family Handyman magazine was interested in our product and wanted to learn more. After receiving a few samples, we were informed that they wanted to put us in the “Products We Love” section of their magazine. This was our big break! The phones didn’t stop ringing and the orders were pouring in for months after the issue came out. We knew that there was an interest and demand for our product. In 2017, Post Shields teamed up with MTD Products to help distribute our product to many retailers in the US. That partnership is continuing to grow and 2018 looks even more promising. Kane and Jennifer are looking forward to seeing what the future holds for Post Shields, Inc. Thank you for being a part of our story.
