About Power Over Dementia Fitness

Power Over Dementia Fitness is an in-person exercise program in central Indiana for individuals with dementia or mild cognitive impairment, and the people who love them. At Power Over Dementia Fitness we believe that group exercise, and the socialization that comes with it, is a great way to keep those living with dementia as independent as possible for as long as possible. Classes aim to maintain or improve strength, balance, flexibility, and cognitive ability through innovative exercise programming. We work to identify each person's strengths, as well as any challenges they may face due dementia's effect on the brain. Since we provide tiered exercise classes, each person can be placed in the class that best matches their abilities. This program is being developed by an Occupational Therapist who has the education and skillset to best address the cognitive, physical, and psychosocial needs of an individual with dementia and their care partners.
