About Powering Potential

Powering Potential Inc. (PPI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides Tanzanian public co-ed schools with solar-powered computers, open source software, and offline digital libraries. PPI currently manages solar computer programs in 29 Tanzanian public schools across 12 rural districts. Our mission: use technology to enhance education and stimulate the imagination of students in Tanzania while respecting and incorporating values of the local culture -- especially cooperation over competition, community over the individual, modesty over pride, and spirituality over materiality.
