About PPCD | greenStruct

PPCD is on a mission to disrupt the construction and engineering business. We aim to develop the leading calculation software that can shake up the industry and help introduce structural solutions that are not only faster, and more practical, but also optimized to reduce CO₂-emission by minimizing material consumption and optionally utilizing synthetic fiber reinforcement to decrease the use of steel. Our software and we make designs with both steel reinforcement, fiber reinforcement, or a combination of the two. But by utilizing macro synthetic polypropylene fiber reinforced concrete (MSFRC), the designs are cheaper as the material cost of the fibers are less than for conventional reinforcement, while the fibers also reduce time spent placing and handling the rebars, thus resulting in less working hours. On top of that, the CO₂-emission of the reinforcement is reduced with more than 60% when using fiber reinforcement instead of steel reinforcement. Lastly, the fibers also increase the safety on the working site, with no cutting edges or sharp ends, and no heavy lifts. Reducing or eliminating the requirement of steel reinforcement is possible, since fiber reinforcement can help: - Reduce crack propagation from long-term (drying and autogenious) shrinkage and short-term (plastic) shrinkage of the concrete elements. - Reduce the stress in the steel, which also reduces the crack spacing and crack width of the concrete elements. - Increase the moment and shear capacity.
