As the world moves to a sustainable circular economy many of the heavy industries once responsible for employing a large percentage of the able bodied workforce will become obsolete. The opportunity by the numbers . . . Over the next decade, as workplaces rapidly adopt automation technologies, it is estimated that 94 million workers in Europe, about two in five, will see 20% of their jobs taken over by machines. About 21 million of them will need to switch occupations as a result (OECD Forum Report, Addressing Europe’s Reskilling Challenge). The pivotal mechanism for supporting workers will be training-reskilling people to perform new jobs, and preparing the next generation of workers for the jobs required by a low-carbon economy. A broad training effort would enable Europe to create a labor force that will thrive during the pursuit of net-zero emissions target. Knowing where to target reskilling programs will be crucial (Euractiv Report, Why Europe Must Reskill Workers to Reach its Climate Goals). Worldwide more than 75 million young people are unemployed and there are 375 million workers of all ages who need to learn new skills by 2030 (McKinsey and Company). Our mission PrachtEd intends to transform and disrupt the industry of personal and professional skills assessments, job training and re-training, via emerging and developing machine learning and gaming technology. The full potential target audience includes university students and recent graduates and goes all the way through to industry veterans in need of upskilling.
