About Pre-Genetic Counseling Organization of UW-Madison

The Pre-Genetic Counseling Organization of UW-Madison (PGCO) stands to provide information, resources, and support to all students interested in or planning to pursue the profession of genetic counseling. We were founded by a small group of rising juniors and seniors led by Madelyn Falk in the summer of 2020. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, traditional exposure and professional opportunities were canceled or otherwise unavailable. The summer planning committee reached out to genetic counselors, professors, students, and peers to organize virtual events to supplement those lost opportunities. Today, we hold meetings, workshops, interviews, and provide resources for undergraduate students seeking to gain exposure and experience in the field of genetic counseling. Members can find all of the information about our upcoming events and resources, including recordings of our past events, on our website.
