About Pregnicare
Pregnicare was established with the purpose of allowing every woman in Israel the opportunity to undergo the world's most sophisticated pre-pregnancy and prenatal tests in a convenient and efficient manner. The first test that Pregnicare is offering in Israel is the NIFTY, or Non-Invasive Fetal Trisomy test, which analyzes fetal DNA. This is a simple blood test – performed on the mother – that can identify among other disorders the three most common chromosomal trisomies: Down syndrome (Trisomy 21), Edwards syndrome (Trisomy 18) and Patau syndrome (Trisomy 13). Unlike an amniocentesis prenatal examination, the NIFTY test poses no risk to the fetus or the mother and provides highly accurate results. A recently published scientific study reported that the test had identified 100% of the Down-syndrome affected fetuses from a sample of more than 10,000 births.
