About Premeds with Promise, Incorporated
Premeds With Promise Inc. was started by Dr. Mindi S. Garner in Pittsburg, KS in 2004 for undergraduate and graduate premedical students. The program was created to expose the students to medicine. The students work in Dr. Garner’s office assisting her and the office staff in various jobs including: answering the phone, refilling medications, taking patient vitals, and scribing for Dr. Garner. Since November of 2007 Dr. Garner’s Satellite Clinic in Girard has been run solely by Premeds with Promise Inc. It is operated two afternoons’ a week. In 2008 Premeds with Promise Inc. launched a two provider clinic with Centricity EMR, and then in January 2009 launched Centricity Practice Management. In addition to this the students have been remotely scribing for a physician using Centricity EMR since the Fall 2008. The program has been a priceless learning experience for the students and has placed over 25 students in medical school.
