About Presidential Productions
Founded by it's principle creative James Cunningham, Presidential Productions is a multi-platform production company based in Australia. Presidential Productions successfully staged the live stage play THE SHEDS, about an openly gay Australian football player, which opened at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2013 and went on to tour the Adelaide Fringe and Sydney Fringe festivals in 2014. THE SHEDS played to sold-out audiences in every city. In 2014 Presidential Productions produced the political drama GOUGH, about the 1975 dismissal of then Prime Minister Gough Whitlam, written and directed by Cunningham. GOUGH earned rave reviews and also saw sold-out crowds at the Melbourne Fringe Festival. The short film DANE about a soldiers struggle with PTSD was directed by Cunningham and produced by Presidential Producions in 2015. The company saw more success in 2016 bringing Patrick Hamilton's 1929 play ROPE to the stage at Perth's Fringe World Festival, directed and produced by Cunningham. Then in 2017 Cunningham presented his new work THE WAR ROOM to festival audiences and to great reviews. Presidential Productions has many more projects, both film and theatre-based, currently in development.
