Primary Design Co. is a visionary design and research studio uniting architecture, urban planning, and computational geometry under the principles of Sphere-Based Design Theory. We explore the sphere as the universal foundation for form, proportion, and spatial hierarchy—scaling from object design to megacity planning. Our applied work spans award-winning architecture and urban prototypes: The BB-8 House — Recognized by Rethinking The Future Awards, this spherical micro-home integrates compact living with panoramic spatial experience, using geodesic geometry for structural efficiency and environmental harmony. The Pool Ball ADU — A sphere-based accessory dwelling unit that transforms the archetype of backyard housing into a sculptural, light-filled retreat, maximizing interior volume within a minimal footprint. Radial-Wave Tessellation (RWT) Urban Sphere — A 50,000-person AI-optimized prototype city using geodesic zoning, hierarchical circulation, and multimodal transport integration for high-density, terrain-adaptive urbanism . In addition to research-driven projects, our portfolio includes transportation corridor planning, ecological infrastructure integration, 3D architectural modeling, and comprehensive municipal plans across Alaska and beyond. We work with advanced tools—High-Level Space Fields (HLSFs), AI-optimized zoning algorithms, SketchUp, ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and LiDAR analysis—to translate visionary design into actionable solutions.
