About Primary Maternity Care
Primary Maternity Care is a service design and consulting firm that helps health systems and other stakeholders improve maternity care. We focus on “primary” maternity care—first line services in the community and care for low-risk birth. We have deep experience in evidence-based care models that improve outcomes and equity and reduce costs. These models include midwifery care, birth centers, group visits, home visits, integrated behavioral health, and digital tools for health and wellness. Our interdisciplinary team of consultants are experts in value-based care models, clinical standards and operations, quality improvement, training and facilitation, consumer research, experience design, product development, and regulatory compliance. When we design solutions, we center the experience of the pregnant person and family, and focus on addressing the needs and opportunities of those most impacted by our maternity care crisis—Black, Indigenous, and other people of color.
