Created in 1989, PRISA TV (formerly known as Sogecable, belongs now to Telefonica - Movistar Plus+) had ample experience in the audiovisual industry, from acquisition and management of audiovisual rights, to production, distribution, marketing and subscriber management. PRISA TV also participates in film production, distribution and exhibition. PRISA TV was a producer of television channels for over two decades: premium pay tv channel CANAL+1, branded theme channels CANAL+ 2, CANAL+ LIGA, CANAL+ ACCION, CANAL+ COMEDIA, CANAL+ XTRA, CANAL+ DCINE, CANAL+ FUTBOL, CANAL+ DEPORTES, DCineEspañol, and a number of themed channels, which as well as being available through CANAL+ own satellite pay TV platform, are also sold on to other cable, IPTV and mobile operators. Examples include CANAL+ TOROS, SPORTMANIA, CAZA Y PESCA, CANAL+ GOLF and 40TV. It owns the first comercial channel in Portugal, TVI, and hispanic VME in the U.S.A.
