About Pro Luomu ry

The Finnish Organic Food Association Pro Luomu promotes the development of organic production and consumption in Finland. Pro Luomu works for the cooperation of actors in the organic sector and is a member of IFOAM EU. Pro Luomu ry on luomualan yhteistyöjärjestö, jonka tehtävänä on edistää luomun kulutusta ja tuotantoa Suomessa. Yhdistyksen jäsenistö kattaa koko ruoantuotantoketjun tuottajista teollisuuteen, kauppaan ja ammattikeittiöihin. Pro Luomu tekee töitä luomun eteen laajalla rintamalla. Yhdistys kokoaa tietoja ja viestii luomutuotannon ja -kulutuksen kehittymisestä Suomessa ja maailmalla, teettää kuluttajatutkimuksia sekä organisoi eri kohderyhmille viestintäkampanjoita ja tempauksia. Yhdistys edistää luomualan yhteistyötä koordinoimalla tuotannonalakohtaisia arvoketjuryhmiä (luomumaito, -liha, -kasvikset sekä luomukeruu), jotka seuraavat oman sektorinsa kehitystä ja esittävät ratkaisuja havaittuihin ongelmiin. Lisäksi Pro Luomu vaikuttaa lausuntojen ja sidosryhmien kautta alan kehitykseen. Vuosittain järjestettävä Luomuelintarvikepäivä kokoaa yhteen elintarvikealan yritysten ja kaupan edustajat. Lisäksi Pro Luomu järjestää muita seminaareja ajankohtaisista asioista. Luomuelintarvikepäivä seuraavan kerran syksyllä 2022.
