About Professional Bartending School
The Professional Bartending School is one of the oldest, longest running bartending schools in the nation, having opened its doors in 1968. It is the largest and best known school in the Mid Atlantic region, located immediately outside of Washington DC and convenient to the entire DC metropolitan region. The school is located 2 blocks from the Orange Line Metro Stop at Courthouse in Arlington. It offers free on site parking and abundant street parking in addition to its Metro accessibility. The Professional Bartending School (PBS) is among the most respected such schools in the nation. It was contracted by the Organization of American States (OAS) to teach bartending on the island of Dominica, the least developed island in the Caribbean in order to assist in enhancing tourism. The school has provided in house training to hotels, clubs, caterers, and restaurants throughout the region in addition to its primary task of training individuals to bartend and providing them with extensive and successful job placement assistance. PBS initiated an advanced bartender job placement program. We have regularly published lists of grads who land bartending jobs. The school is completely unique in this regard compared to all other bartending schools in the nation. Since 2009 the school has generally averaged approximately 100 bartending jobs per month. No other school of this type can match that record.
