About Professional Snowsports Instructors of America - Northwest
Established in the 1930′s, the Pacific Northwest Ski Association (PNSA) was one of the first professional ski associations in the United States. The association was comprised of skiers throughout the Northwest. In 1958, the instructors formed their own association then known as the Pacific Northwest Ski Instructors Association (PNSIA). This group then joined with the national organization, PSIA, and is now the division known as the Professional Snowsports Instructors of America – Northwest (PSIA-NW). Mission Statement: Provide high quality educational resources and well defined standards to aid our members in improving their teaching skills to better satisfy the needs and expectations of their customers in the enjoyment of downhill and Nordic snowsports.
