About Project Floss

Project Floss is a student-led nonprofit startup committed to addressing the inequities in dental care access—especially for marginalized and low-income communities. Too often, oral hygiene is overlooked as part of overall health, even though issues like gum disease and untreated dental pain can severely impact a person’s ability to eat, sleep, and live comfortably. Our mission is to raise awareness of the systemic barriers that prevent thousands from receiving proper dental care—and to work toward long-term, sustainable solutions that support underserved populations. From education initiatives to resource access, we aim to close the gap and advocate for oral care as a fundamental right, not a privilege.
