About Project Kampfire

Project Kampfire, formerly known as Kamp Kiwanis, has a proud history of providing transformative experiences through camp and outdoor education. Project Kampfire continues to be a community-focused initiative dedicated to empowering youth. Inspired by the warmth and connection of a campfire, we create spaces where young people can explore, think critically, and build meaningful relationships. The campfire is our guiding metaphor, symbolizing the light of learning, the warmth of community, and the spark of inspiration that fuels personal growth. The “K” in Kampfire is a tribute to our roots with the Kiwanis Clubs of Calgary, honouring the legacy of community service that continues to inspire our work. While our name has evolved, our commitment remains the same: to offer programs that foster personal growth, environmental stewardship, and a sense of belonging…these include our summer camp and outdoor school programs. The transition to Project Kampfire reflects our renewed vision and expanded reach. By embracing this new identity, we are able to connect with even more communities, extending the impact of our programs far beyond a single location. Our vision is a world where all youth grow into responsible, engaged members of their communities, and every initiative we undertake is a step toward making that vision a reality.
