Purpose: We observed a troubling trend - chess tournaments in Singapore are becoming increasingly expensive, potentially creating financial barriers for aspiring players to compete and grow in the game. While online chess is more accessible than ever with sites such as chess.com and lichess.org, nothing quite compares to the thrill and depth of physical, over-the-board play, where strategy and tactics unfold in real time, free from the limits of a computer or phone screen. Our mission is to break these barriers and reignite the passion for mainly over-the-board chess, beginning with the youngest minds and gradually expanding our impact to the broader community. By making chess more inclusive and accessible, we hope to cultivate a new generation of strategic thinkers and prodigies.
