About ProMare

ProMare, Inc. is a non-profit corporation and public charity established in 2001 to promote marine research and exploration. We execute a variety of independent and cooperative research projects in the United States, United Kingdom, Norway, the European Union and Turkey. Our goal is to advance man’s knowledge of the marine world. In the past five years ProMare has: • Funded the Ships & History in Plymouth Sound (SHIPS) marine archaeology project in the United Kingdom, • Dived 8,000 meters to the bottom of the Puerto Rico Trench with an autonomous underwater vehicle of our own design to collect data and biological samples, and • Sponsors the Mayflower Autonomous Research Ship (MARS) in cooperation with Plymouth University, renowned Shuttleworth Design and M Subs Ltd.
