About PROP (People Reaching Out to People)
PROP has been caring for our neighbors in need for over 50 years. Today, we help 1,100 Eden Prairie and Chanhassen families in financial distress meet their basic needs, while providing additional services to help them on a path toward self-sufficiency. Through a food shelf, housing assistance, employment counseling, mental health services, and money management, PROP strengthens the community. An unfortunate event can bring hardship to any of us: a job loss, a medical crisis, a bad economy, personal or family issues. People sometimes find themselves unable to meet some basic needs, such as food and housing. Families who are struggling are provided with emergency grocery and financial assistance, as well as resources and support to regain self-sufficiency. The mission of PROP is to compassionately provide food and comprehensive support to our neighbors in need that creates a path toward self-sufficiency.
