About Propel Youth Arts WA
Propel Youth Arts WA is the peak body for youth arts in Western Australia dedicated to creating access and opportunities for young people to engage in the Arts. Our programs span across all art forms from contemporary dance to photography, music to design, theatre to visual art. Our work is focused on arts advocacy, skills development and access to opportunities, for those already engaged in the arts and those who would like to be. Our programs: Youth Week WA KickstART Festival The KickstART Festival is the flagship event for Youth Week WA. It aims to showcase the skills of young people, and empowers them to make a positive contribution to their community, through arts markets, workshops, forums and activities. Drug Aware YCulture Metro A project funding and skills development initiative providing arts grants of up to $3,000 for people aged between 12 and 26. These grants are for early career artists who would like to plan and coordinate their own projects or initiatives across any artistic medium. Mosaic A unique community based photography project, Mosaic offers everybody in WA the chance to take a photo on an allocated day and send it back to have it shown in a professionally produced mass exhibition. The Sketchbook Project Each year, Propel sends out sketchbooks to participants across Western Australia, ready to be cut, painted and inked, filled with designs, stories, drawings from young people across our vast State. All sketchbooks are displayed at the State Library of WA before embarking on a tour of regional and suburban libraries, sharing young people's stories. The Hive The Hive is a new program created to provide a platform for young and emerging multi-disciplinary artists to come together, make work, develop skills and collaborate in a supported environment. Amplifier Amplifier is a free arts business guide and networking program designed to sharpen the arts business skills of emerging Perth metro artists and arts workers aged 18-30 years.
