About Providence College Finance Society

The Providence College Finance Society provides an environment where students can apply what they have learned from past experience and what they have learned in the classroom in a structured forum. This society is meant to be all encompassing across the broad spectrum of interests within the financial services industry. Members will be exposed to speakers and companies in the industry, take an active role in the organization by way of weekly meetings, and will be given the chance to network with their peers and professionals. The ultimate goal of the PCFS is to promote a culture in which members are engaged with each other, the society, and the greater financial services industry. As of 2019, the Blockchain Club and the Real Estate Club have been added as sections of the Finance Society for students who are interested in developing a better understanding of these segments of the finance industry. More recently, the Risk Management Club has been added to the Finance Society. In addition, the Finance Society has launched the Student-Led Asset Management (SLAM) Program. SLAM allows students to learn – hands-on, in real time – how to invest across different classes of assets, including equity, fixed income, and alternatives.
