Founded in May 2009, Proximate Global Inc. (PGI) is a U.S.-based corporation with offices in New York and Karachi. The Company’s initial product is face2face, launching in summer 2010. The face2face application for smartphones combines the benefits of social networks and location awareness, with the privacy and control that users are increasingly demanding. PGI is poised for international success; 70% of smartphone users live outside the United States and developing countries are the world’s fastest growing markets. The face2face application is built for global scalability, and its cross-market potential has been recognized by a number of potential partners that are in conversations with PGI. PGI is led by a skilled and experienced management team that has deep industry expertise and are also serial entrepreneurs, having founded several successful companies in Pakistan and the United States. Members of the team have worked in custom application development, enterprise software solutions, management consulting and finance, at Creative Chaos, Mobile Complete, McKinsey & Co., Credit Suisse First Boston and Vardon Capital. The Company employs more than 45 people, including more than 30 software engineers. PGI has attracted US$1 MM in investments and is currently completing another angel round. PGI employs a strong blocking IP strategy and has filed for patents on proprietary technologies and trademarks having retained Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati and Black, Lowe & Graham.
