PSE Por la Sonrisa de un Niño is the Spanish branch of Pour un Sourire d'Enfant (PSE), a non-profit organisation founded in 1995. PSE provides assistance, protection, and education to children facing severe hardships in Cambodia and living in conditions of extreme multidimensional poverty, reintegrating them into society and creating a safe and suitable environment for them to study, learn a profession as qualified as possible, and join the Cambodian labour market with dignified and well-paid jobs. The NGO is recognised by local authorities and works closely with the Cambodian community, respecting its culture and promoting sustainable development. PSE supports over 6,000 children through the development of five main programmes: - Education. - Vocational Training. - Nutrition and Health. - Protection and Accommodation. - Family Support. Currently, more than 6,000 graduates of the Vocational Training Programme have successfully entered the Cambodian labour market. For its part, PSE Por la Sonrisa de un Niño provides support and funding for the main programmes and develops and finances the School Continuity Programme. This programme, which has been running since 2003, focuses on ensuring the continuation of the education, protection, and assistance provided by PSE to nearly 2,000 Cambodian children living in conditions of extreme multidimensional poverty during the end-of-year school holidays. PSE Por la Sonrisa de un Niño is an association officially recognised as serving the public good and has been awarded the Fundación Lealtad seal, which guarantees compliance with the nine Principles of Transparency and Good Practices.
