About Public Health Equity Initiative (PHEI)

The Public Health Equity Initiative (PHEI) is dedicated to reducing health disparities by promoting well-being and health equity in workplaces and underserved communities. We focus on embedding public health principles within small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and underserved areas. Our mission is to create healthier environments where everyone has access to quality healthcare and the opportunity for a healthy life. Through education, policy advocacy, strategic partnerships, and community-driven initiatives, PHEI works with businesses, policymakers, healthcare professionals, and local communities to address the social determinants of health—such as income, education, and healthcare access. By addressing these factors, we foster long-term health improvements and economic growth. Aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), PHEI is committed to making public health equity a reality. Key areas of focus: Workplace & Community Health Policies: Developing inclusive health policies for businesses and underserved communities. Health Education & Training: Offering workshops on public health and health equity for SMEs and local leaders. Health Screenings & Early Interventions: Organising mobile clinics and community health screenings. Mental Health Support: Promoting mental well-being through peer support groups and workshops. Access to Affordable Healthcare: Ensuring that businesses and communities have access to affordable healthcare options. PHEI collaborates with governments, businesses, healthcare providers, and local organisations to empower individuals and organisations in promoting health and reducing disparities.
