About Pula Airport

Pula Airport is one of nine international airports in Croatia. It was founded in 1967. It is located in the municipality of Ližnjan, in the immediate vicinity of the connection to the state road D-401, the county road ŽC-5120, ŽC-5121, the village of Loborika and is 8.6 km from the centre of Pula and is located at an altitude of 83.5 meters. On December 14, 2017, Pula Airport gained an aerodrome certificate in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 216/2008 of the European Parliament and of the Council and the Commission Regulation (EC) No. 139/2014 as aerodrome reference code 4D with the authority to manage the aerodrome and can independently provision of apron management services. The passenger terminal of Pula Airport is a simple passenger terminal built on two floors (main and ground), which is centralized for handling domestic and international traffic. Based on statistical data and traffic structure, it is evident that international point-to-point transport prevails, especially during the summer months when traffic exceeds the capacity of the passenger terminal. The general data are as follows: • conditions to operate: day/night, VFR/IFR; • types of approaches: non-precision instrument approach (RWY 09), • precision instrument approach – standard category I (RWY 27); • runway length 2 946 m and width 45 m; • eight taxiways width 23 m; • apron 64 000 m2; • ten main parking stands for commercial aviation – code letter C; • two alternatives parking stands for commercial aviation – code letter E; • rescue and firefighting level of protection up to CAT 9; • total number of passengers was 777 568 in 2019; • total number of operations was 10 428 in 2019.
