About Punar
Helping brands, organisations and individuals with their social responsibility, sustainability and gender equality goals through gifts, custom made merchandise and fashion textiles. Punar is a purpose driven multi-award-winning start up, one of the world’s first to weave sustainability and gender equality while positively disrupting the gifting and textile industries. Every piece crafted by our women is a symbol of hope, resilience and environmental stewardship. Our name Punar, meaning "again" in Sanskrit, reflects our mission of rebirth—of materials, opportunities, and lives. We are giving choices to customers again to buy better. Facts: 40% gifts end up in landfill each year. Every second a rubbish truck full of clothes is dumping clothes into landfill. In Australia alone, clothes ending up in landfill are 4 times the weight of Sydney Harbour bridge. Over 70% of fashion textile industry workers in India and South Asia are women yet they are the most underpaid. At Punar, we have accepted the challenge and writing good new story. Each piece we craft is made with either handwoven zero emission fabric or a mix of sustainable, upcycled and recycled materials. 90% of our makers are women who work in safe workplace earning equal pay. Our Impacts Since launching, we have always prioritised people and the planet: Upskilled and created safe jobs for over a dozen women artisans, fostering economic independence and community upliftment. Diverted 208 kg of clothing waste from landfills, transforming it into sustainable, meaningful gifts. Handwoven 550 meters of fabric using natural dyes and zero chemicals. Saved 750,000 litres of water, championing eco-friendly innovation. Why Punar? We partner with businesses seeking to elevate their ESG and CSR commitments through ethical, sustainable, and impactful corporate gifting. From executive gifts to bespoke branded creations, Punar’s offerings enhance your brand’s reputation while empowering communities.
