Learning-disabled and autistic people have the right to thrive. At Purple Patch Arts, we make this happen by pioneering innovative, inclusive, creative lifelong learning opportunities for learning-disabled and autistic adults across Yorkshire. Every year we support and empower over 200 learning-disabled and autistic people through our inclusive Lifelong Learning Programmes and funded projects that increase social connections, confidence, independence, mental wellbeing and life skills. We live in a world where learning isn’t open to everyone. Many learning-disabled and autistic people don’t have safe, supportive environments where they are free to be themselves and learn in a way that suits them. This is where we come in - we think learning should be for everyone. We should all have an equal chance to learn and grow and reach our full potential. We'll never stop advocating for learning-disabled and autistic people's right to thrive, and calling for inclusive learning opportunities for all. At Purple Patch, we do learning differently. Whether it’s disco dancing like the Ancient Greeks, acting out complex news stories with multi-sensory props and music, or dressing up for a famous inventor’s red-carpet event, learning with us is always approachable, engaging, fun, creative and hands-on.
