Purpose Built Schools Atlanta partners with Atlanta Public Schools to support three neighborhood schools in South Atlanta: Slater Elementary School, Price Middle School, and Carver STEAM Academy. By offering a complete PreK - 12 pipeline of neighborhood schools, we provide a consistent, positive experience for students as they make their way through grade school. We believe that every school in Atlanta can thrive–no matter the zip code– when students have the support and enrichments needed to unlock their full potential. Our coursework is rigorous and engaging for all of our students, offering project-based learning, advanced placement (AP) courses, a STEAM curriculum, small group instruction, Saturday school, and targeted interventions. Through project-based learning (PBL), students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate an engaging real-life problem. This approach helps make learning come alive, boosts confidence and creativity, and prepares students for future careers. PBSA’s innovative model includes an extended school day in order to incorporate enrichment opportunities within the school day. With enrichments like band, dance, chess, sports, art and robotics, our schools are places where scholars can explore a variety of subjects to discover their full potential and learn what they truly love to do. We offer programs specifically designed to help children love learning and have a sense of possibility beyond school. These include after school programs, field trips and internship opportunities for high school students. We engage outside the school walls to support students and families with holistic wraparound services including mental health counseling, social-emotional learning support, legal services, and access to fresh food.
