About Purposeful Play

Purposeful P.L.A.Y. (Positive Learning through Athletics for Youth) designs, develops and delivers high quality sports-based youth development programming. We are dedicated to inspiring youth to discover their individual passions, reach their full potential and realize the endless possibilities for achievement through sport. Less than one percent of high school athletes advance to become professional athletes, yet many of today's youth invest countless hours on a singular focus: sports. Purposeful PLAY fully supports research that: physical activity and access to safe recreation creates better outcomes; quality mentor relationships build character and self-confidence; and early exposure and experiences create college and career ready students. Our programs inspire youth to understand that athletics, coupled with education, is a better bet. PLAY Athletics provides out-of-school time programming focused on athletic skill development and nutrition utilizing the most innovative tools. PLAY University is our training grounds for coaches, youth advocates, teachers and mentors. Press PLAY provides early exposure to sports related careers of all sorts. We develop beyond the ball! Our curriculum teaches students the use of digital media for careers in sports broadcasting and journalism and exposes youth to the Sports STEM Zone, where sports related careers in Science, Technology,Engineering and Math are explored.
