At Qandalami, we embody this philosophy, producing high-quality eggs with dedication and care from our farm in Mangethe, Mandeni. Founded in 2020 as a small home-based broiler business with just 100 birds, Qandalami has grown into a thriving poultry agribusiness operating a 10,000-layer unit. With ambitious plans to expand to a 30,000-layer unit by 2028, we are committed to growth and sustainability. Leadership: The company is proudly 100% female-owned and led by joint Managing Directors, Silondiwe Nxumalo and Ntwenhle Linda: Silondiwe Nxumalo brings a background in Environmental and Geological Studies, agricultural experience, and expertise as a former safety officer at Eskom. Ntwenhle Linda, with a degree in Consumer Science, has extensive knowledge as a retail buyer and successful entrepreneur in poultry farming. Together, they combine skills in agriculture, safety, and business management to ensure a sustainable and efficient operation. Farm Operations: Located on a long-term leased sugarcane farm in Mandeni, our operations have ample space for growth and innovation. Our farm is designed to produce fresh, nutritious eggs with the highest standards of care and quality. Our Offerings: We supply farm-fresh eggs to a wide range of customers, including households, bakeries, restaurants, hospitals, and retailers. Our products are available in trays of 30, dozens, or bulk orders to meet diverse needs. Our Mission: Qandalami is more than just an egg producer. We aim to address food security concerns, foster stronger communities, and support economic empowerment. As a 100% B-BBEE female-owned company, we align with South Africa’s empowerment goals, promoting diversity and equality in agriculture.
