About QED Naval
QED Naval is defined as a high growth company that is using nearly 20 years experience within naval architecture and marine engineering consultancy to develop concepts for the marine renewable energy industry (wave, tidal and offshore wind). The majority of this experience has been within R & D, rapidly prototyping marine structures from concept through to production using state of the art numerical modelling methods and tools and experimental techniques. These skills are now being offered to other Small to Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) within this rapidly evolving industry to help them develop class leading products to market by providing them access to high end design and assessment resources that are usually out of reach of SMEs. QED Naval promotes rapid product development through assessment in the virtual environment which enhances the performance characteristics of the product. Using our design expertise we will aim to demonstrate market leading attributes in the design or minimise the CAPital EXpenditure (CAPEX) of the product, improving profitability at no expense to performance. Early stage assessment also encourages investor confidence in the design. However, the correct Verification and Validation (V & V) procedures need to be enforced to ensure good results and this where QED Naval's experience is so valuable.
