About Qigong Sensory Training Institute
The QIGONG SENSORY TRAINING INSTITUTE (QSTI) is a 501c3 nonprofit corporation incorporated in Oregon in 2008. The mission of QSTI is to create and perpetuate effective models of care for children with autism and their families. The models we seek are evidence-based, accessible, and self-sustaining. To implement this mission, QSTI engages in the following core activities: -Training an increasing number of professionals in a variety of settings to become certified Qigong Sensory Treatment trainers and Master Trainers. -Mainstreaming the affordable and effective parent implemented QST intervention so it is accessible and affordable to children and families worldwide. -Interfacing with systems of care to see that QST programs are implemented with sufficient training and long-term parent support to allow children to realize the full benefit of treatment. -Advancing research that continuously builds understanding of autism and the efficacy of interventions. -Improving the quality of life, well-being, inclusion, and equitable participation of all children impacted by autism and their families. Qigong Sensory Treatment (QST) is a proven, touch-based autism treatment for children that parents perform for 15 minutes each day for up to two years to normalize sensory issues and reduce or eliminate symptoms of autism. Results are apparent after as few as 30 days of treatment. QST for autism is unique among autism treatments because it grants children access to normal development, helps them feel comfortable and connected to others, and improves life outcomes.
