Currently, pharmacokinetic profiling uses drug concentrations up to organ or total cellular levels. This does unfortunately not provide information about the actual drug concentration at the molecular target inside a cell, which is expected to contribute to incorrect prediction of a drug’s efficacy and safety. Therefore, enhanced insight into a drug’s subcellular distribution profile is required, including: (I) the cellular uptake, (II) a drug’s distribution over the various organelles, (III) and the role of organelle transport proteins therein. QTM’s services aim to contribute to a more efficient drug development process, by quantifying and modeling a drug’s subcellular distribution profile, also referred to as pharmacokinetics 2.0. To do so, we have developed a proprietary label-free method to measure both bound and unbound cytosolic and organelle concentrations. To disentangle the role of organelle transport proteins herein, we provide state-of-the-art services. Finally, QTM provides services to simulate the subcellular drug distribution and consulting to assist your molecular PKPD challenges during drug development. Thereby, we strive to make drug discovery faster and cheaper, and to prevent unnecessary human and animal studies.
