About Quality Parenting Initiative - Minnesota (QPI-MN)

QPI-MN launched in 2017 aimed at fundamental transformation of the child welfare system so that every child receives loving, excellent parenting every day, and that every child has the opportunity to thrive into adulthood. Our core principles are 1) excellent parenting and meaningful relationships is the best service we can give children and youth in foster care, 2) practice and policy needs to be research driven and 3) those most impacted by the system are in the best position to create the solutions. To address system barriers, we use the collective wisdom of lived experience individuals, foster care agencies, county caseworkers, court staff, and community-based providers who support those involved in child welfare. QPI-MN is a collaborative effort. Our committees and action work groups are open to all individuals and agencies interested.
