Quality Seismic Consultancy Limited was formed in 2006 and provides a range of seismic-related activities with a focus on seismic processing and seismic inversion. Attention to detail and a flexible approach provide a service that takes into account client wishes and a desire to get the most from the seismic data. Processing data from difficult areas with particular problems such as static issues or multiples is typical of the work carried out. A strong technical insight into client requirements and contractor capabilities is brought to bear in producing optimum results. Recent projects have included processing of onshore data from Mali, AVO modelling from the North Sea, post-stack and pre-stack inversion of 3D volumes over tight gas reservoirs from Algeria. For the AVO and inversion projects well logs and seismic data are used together to provide information about rock properties such as porosity. Working with a specialist petrophysicist modelling is carried out to analyse the potential of the data and the usefulness of the derived results. Seismic processing is carried out using Globe Claritas software on a Linux cluster. This is a full 2D and 3D processing package that is produced by GNS Science of New Zealand (further details www.globeclaritas.com). AVO and inversion work is carried out using Hampson-Russell AVO and Strata software. These are proven, robust packages that are used widely in the exploration industry.
