Queen Mary Law Society (QMLS) is established as the heart of student societies at Queen Mary University of London. Law students and non-law students alike, QMLS serves to represent all students seeking a career in the legal sector. Throughout the year, the society offers a multitude of events, opportunities, and access points for students at any academic level to gain exposure to all possible legal careers – from working for a City firm, to being part of an in-house legal team. On an academic front, QMLS is responsible for the publication of its own monthly/annual law review; an entirely student-run publication. Our law review offers students a platform to deliberate historic and contemporary legal issues, with entries as diverse as our student body. The publication incorporates opinions from both freshmen and senior students, promoting a critical analysis of legal themes that fall outside the scope of the typical legal curriculum. QMLS also has a compelling social calendar in the works, with plans to revive the annual law ball this winter. With dinners, networking events and workshops throughout the year, we give our members a head-start in their legal career. Whether you are an aspiring solicitor, barrister, or are pursuing an alternative career in law, we aim to open the door of your legal career, connecting you to firms, Chambers and institutions.
