About Queen Mary Ukrainian Society

Queen Mary University of London is a member of Russell Group Association and belongs to TOP-10 universities in London. The notable alumni of our university are recognised all over the world within various fields, for instance business and economics. Aside from the organisation of social events, contributing to the popularisation of the Ukrainian culture, we also aim to engage our students academically. The activities organised by our society specifically contribute to raising the awareness of Ukrainian heritage internationally. Furthermore, we allow students from all over the world to become familiar with the Ukrainian culture, customs, history and political development. There are two most important concentration areas for our society: - Academic development We desire that the participation in our activities are both enjoyable and beneficent for our members. That is a reason why we organise lectures with the speakers and networking sessions with experts from a range of business and academic areas. These provide an educational basis as the students learn from the older generations and gain access to their experience and knowledge. Moreover, we cooperate with the societies of the other Russell Group universities’ societies in the organisation of these events. -General development Even though we pay significant attention to the academic part of our activity, we also believe that general education and development are equally important. For this reason, our society regularly organises joint events with other national societies, which is an amazing opportunity for our members to communicate and network with individuals from different countries. In addition, we also try to give the broadest idea of Ukraine and Ukrainian culture possible by hosting events devoted to the Ukrainian theme.
