About Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS)
Our goal is to provide world-class support, in particular expert Performance Services, to Queensland’s pre-elite and elite athletes, ensuring that the State remains at the forefront of National and International sporting success. The QAS currently supports more than 530 athletes ranging from talented juniors through to Olympic, Paralympic and World Championships medallists. We support both in-house squad programs, partnership Programs with National Sporting Organisations and/or scholarships for individuals who are on medal-winning trajectories for international success. We have a bold and ambitious vision and strategy, working in close partnership with sports, to enable more medal-winning moments by Queensland Athletes to ultimately inspire the State and the Nation ahead. This is also in the backdrop of transformational 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The QAS has a 2032 Vision to “Inspire Extraordinary Sporting Success”, with an immediate 2024 Mission to enable athlete performance resulting in Queensland’s best ever medal contribution. We have 7 Key Objectives to achieving this: • Ensuring Queensland has an oversupply of Athletic talent capable of winning on the world stage. • High performing coaches enabling world-class outcomes at each level of the athlete pathway. • Delivering expert Performance Support Teams (physiotherapists, sports physicians and nutritionists) that maximise the availability and enhance the performances of athletes. • Delivering cutting edge performance solutions to athletes by fostering enterprising partnerships. • Investing resources strategically, objectively, and efficiently to optimise success. • Enabling a data-driven competitive advantage. • Attracting and retaining a talented and motivated workforce, capable of operating in highly complex, high-performance environments
