Four gentlemen who worked for a small grocery store in the San Francisco bay area had a vision of opening a chain of convenience stores that could be franchised to individuals who would concentrate on business operations and have the paperwork and accounting processed in a central office. The accounting dept would process the bills and generate financial statements for a small fee. Thus Quik Stop Markets, Inc. was founded and the first office opened in Fremont, CA in 1965. Leon Sayous becomes the first President. Today, Quik Stop is owned by EG Group and operated by EG America out of Westborough, MA.
