RJ Murray is an HVAC distributor offering sales, service and support for heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. The company is Carrier’s oldest operating distributor and supports 500+ dealers, contractors, government, and industrial accounts from a modern, 50,000-square-foot distribution facility in Latham, NY, and secondary warehouse in Williston, VT. In 1929, founder Richard Murray, Sr., started bringing refrigeration and air conditioning to homes and industries in the Northeast. “The Father of Cool”, Dr. Willis Carrier, who invented mechanical air conditioning, took notice of Murray’s success. In 1933, Murray joined a young Carrier Air Conditioning Company. As business expanded, Carrier asked Murray to form a distributorship and franchise dealers to sell and install air conditioning equipment. Now in its third generation, family-owned RJ Murray Company, Inc. was the first Carrier distributor in the world.
