About Racing To Relate Cio
Racing To Relate is a racing charity (Registered Charity No.1182855) established to focus on post racing careers for Thoroughbreds in Equine Assisted Therapy (EAT) and Activities for the benefit of people with mental and physical disabilities. Very kindly supported by The Childwick Trust, The Sir Peter O'Sullevan Charitable Trust and The John Pearce Foundation. We are endorsed by The British Horseracing Authority Executive (BHA), The Retraining of Racehorses and our partners include the University of Bristol and UCD on our collaborative research project: 'Selection and Education of Former Racehorses (Thoroughbreds) for Equine Assisted Therapy: Developing the Evidence base for a Global Standard.' Our vision is long term positive impact on Thoroughbred welfare in the context of these very special horse and human relationships beyond racing. Our strategic aims include evidence-based leadership on the use of former racehorses, improving access and optimising equine and human welfare outcomes within this increasingly popular and diverse field of post racing careers. We are committed to engagement and collaboration with stakeholders, securing consensus and resources, joined up advocacy, research and data sharing, education and effective communication on post racing careers for Thoroughbreds in EAT.
