Consultant physicist and engineer specialising in space radiation effects analysis. With over 17 years experience in the space industry, performing all aspects of space radiation analysis such as: - Total ionising dose and non-ionising dose (displacement damage) predictions via sector analysis and Monte Carlo simulations - 3D radiation modelling of spacecraft, equipment and components - LEO, MEO, GEO and beyond radiation environment generation, including orbit raising missions - Radiation Hardness Assurance of Hi-Rel and Commercial of the shelf (COTS) components - Materials degradation due to ionising dose, non-ionising dose and atomic oxygen - Single Event Effect (SEE) analysis and rate predictions - Single Event Effect (SEE) testing with protons and heavy ions (from test plan all the way through to report write-up) - Experience with prompt dose (dose rate) effects and nuclear hardening - Detailed review and feedback on project radiation requirements, SoCs and analysis documents such as radiation analyses, WCAs, DCLs, FMECAs, etc.) - Worked on a multitude of ESA projects and have an excellent understanding of ECSS RHA related documentation Some of the missions I have performed detailed radiation analysis on during my career include Galileo IOV/FOC, KazEOSat-1, NovaSAR, Quantum, TripleSat Constellation, Sentinel-1, Amazonas-2, Alphasat, Carbonite-1, AlSat-1B, TechDemoSat-1, ExoMars Rover, Gateway, Comet Interceptor Customers include Airbus Defence and Space, SEN, Neptec UK, Antwerp Space, Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd For discrete packages of work to long term contract/consultancy enquiries please contact me on: tom@radiationanalysis.co.uk
