Radiation Emergency Services delivers advanced tools, planning expertise, and simulation support to improve radiological and nuclear emergency preparedness worldwide. Our mission is to modernize response training and exercises by combining operational realism, science-based tools, and field-tested planning strategies. We specialize in: • Simulation-based training, including our proprietary GPS-enabled software, RadTeamSim.Route, which allows responders to train in dynamic, real-world locations • Full-spectrum exercise support, from tabletop design to large-scale, multi-agency field drills • After-action analysis and development of decision-support tools to drive improvements in plans and procedures • Custom radiological maps and data products to support both training and operational decision-making Our team has supported exercises around the world, including senior planning and coordination roles for national and international radiation response drills. One of our previous efforts, Concrete Shield, was a recurring multinational exercise that simulates nuclear or radiological disaster response, humanitarian coordination, and long-term recovery operations. Past iterations have included realistic cross-border scenarios—such as a fictional incident at a Ukrainian nuclear plant along the Danube River, with full participation from Romanian emergency services and U.S. humanitarian response teams.
