I’ve spent more than 30 years in rail, mostly in training, and I’ve loved every minute of it. But over time I saw how complicated, inconsistent and frustrating Competence Management Systems (CMS) could become, especially for those on the front line. So in 2021 I started Rail Competence & Compliance Ltd (RCC) with a simple goal: to make compliance and competence easier, smarter and more effective for the people who actually use it. Since then RCC has grown into a trusted partner for operators, maintainers and suppliers. We’ve supported companies of all sizes, from SMEs who don’t have in-house training teams to major suppliers like Polarteknik, helping them build competence systems that actually work. The impact? Greater clarity, higher confidence and real-time visibility over who’s ready to do the job. We do more than CMS design. RCC offers internal quality assurance, technical training, assessor qualifications and a hands-on approach that clients say sets us apart. But what truly drives me is getting out there, meeting teams, understanding their challenges and building systems that support them day in and day out.
